Ministers in Argentina and Brazil (1983-2016)
Organizadores: Adriano Codato (UFPR); Renato Perissinotto (UFPR); Mariana Gené
Resumo: We compared two countries, Brazil and Argentina, in order to identify similarities and differences in their respective selection and appointment processes for State ministers. This comparison is particularly interesting because, as several authors have shown, unlike Brazil, Argentina has no coalition presidentialism, at least when it comes to ministerial selection. Hence, the comparison could reveal important singularities as to how both presidential regimes form their government team.
